A New Chapter for Kingsley Kuku
Kingsley Kuku has been called to the Nigerian Bar, adding a new chapter to his legacy of service. He is a peace activist and a lifelong advocate for justice. He cut his teeth in leadership within the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), where he learned to organize, mobilize, and speak for the voiceless. He later rose to national prominence as Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).
As PAP Chairman, Kuku oversaw one of Nigeria’s most ambitious peacebuilding initiatives. Under his leadership, the PAP demobilized and disarmed more than 30,000 former militants. He launched training schemes that sent ex-agitators to flight schools in Oxford, Emirates, and Lufthansa. He also enrolled thousands of others in Nigerian and foreign universities. These efforts helped restore peace and stability in the Niger Delta and boosted Nigeria’s oil production. Today, as a lawyer, he strengthens his advocacy with legal instruments.
Advocate for Cybersecurity and AI Democratization
Kuku is a strong believer in technology as a tool for progress. While abroad, he spoke against the rise of cybercrime and pushed for safe practices online. He insists that artificial intelligence should be democratized. AI must remain guided by human agencies, not unchecked systems. For him, AI should serve people and respect their dignity.
Now that he practices law, he brings this vision into Nigeria’s legal framework. He is positioned to push for stronger rules that keep citizens safe from digital harm. His voice is vital in shaping how technology impacts everyday life.
